SouthSeas Woven Wood Shades are beautifully crafted across every stage of their production process, from the raw materials selection and processing to finished shade production. Every shade from this collection is created by artisans who hand-weave the material from natural yarns and reeds and carefully tailor the finished product, ensuring that your natural shades will be truly unique.

Natural Shades have many customization options that make them as functional as they are beautiful. Cordless and motorized controls are recommended for ease of use. Both cordless and motorized controls are operated without the use of hanging cords or cord loops, making them a sophisticated style choice that is a safer option for homes with children and pets.

Remote control motors can be paired with our automated hub for control through smart phones and select smart home technologies that include Amazon Alexa, Control4, Google Home, IFTTT, RTI, Samsung Smart Things, and Siri Short Cuts. Motorized shades are powered by a rechargeable motor. The motor charge generally lasts 3 – 6 months, with recharging required after 300 up/down cycles.

Adding a liner allows more privacy and light control for your shades. Fabrics with an open weave that are ordered without a liner do not offer much privacy at night. We always recommend ordering shades with a liner when privacy is desired. Light-filtering liners will allow soft light into the room. Black-out liners have a room-darkening effect and will not allow light through the front of the shade.

Shades can be ordered in Standard or Waterfall style. Standard style will have shade fabric coming off the back of the head rail, with a 6” valance on the front of the shade. This means the shade will be closer to the window when installed, making standard style a good option for rooms that require room-darkening. Waterfall style will have shade fabric coming off the front of the shade head rail. This means the shade will be further from the window when installed, making Waterfall style a good option if extra space is required between the shade and the window (example: clearing trim or window handles).

The addition of Edge Binding will not only add a truly personal decorative touch but will also help protect your shade’s natural edges from damage or fraying.

Child Safety:

Cordless or Motorized controls are recommended for homes with children and pets. All other versions of this product have cords that may be accessible and pose a strangulation hazard.
