Frequently Asked Questions

Will there be any product delays?

We are experiencing longer production times due to COVID-19. We've updated production times listed on all product pages. We keep this information as up-to-date as possible for each window treatment and accessory and are closely monitoring all items. Since our products are custom and made to order, we may encounter issues in production after purchase. If we become aware of a product delay after you purchase your product, we will notify you as soon as possible.

Can I order samples?

Unfortunately we cannot fulfill sample orders at this time. To comply with our local government's Stay Home-Work Safe Order, our Samples Department is temporarily closed. We will update our site when our samples department reopens. If you would like help, have questions, or even have pics of your space, our design experts can totally work with that.

What are your employees doing?

We are cooperating with best practices and government orders by working remotely. If you're talking to us and hear one of our pup's bark, it's because we're being diligent to ensure the health and safety of our families and communities.

What If I scheduled or want to schedule an In-home appointment for measure and install?

If you have scheduled an in-home appointment for measure and install services or custom shutter services, a service provider should contact you with the status of your appointment. Service providers are also following CDC guidelines and government orders, where applicable. If you feel that you would like to reschedule your appointment, we are happy to help you with that too.

We have and continue to pull together in times of change and promise to keep our products, online presence and customers updated as we navigate through these new and challenging times.

We Are Here For You

How to Measure for Sheer Shades

Tips Before You Get Started

  • Use a steel tape measure for the most accurate measurements
  • If you’re considering an Inside Mount, make sure your window has enough depth to accommodate it
  • Always measure width (left to right) first and height (top to bottom) second
  • Record all measurements to the closest 1/8”, making sure to clearly identify which is your height and which is your width—it is very common to get them mixed up

Determine Inside Mount or Outside Mount

  • Inside mount sheer shades will fit inside the window opening (Recommended)
    • Cleaner look
    • Most energy efficient
  • Outside mount sheer shades will cover beyond your window opening in width and height
    • Minimizes light gaps for more privacy and light control
    • Recommended for out of square windows or with minimal depth

Measuring for Inside Mount

Note: Inside mount sheer shades will have a small deduction automatically applied by the manufacturer, to ensure proper fit

Width

  • Measure at the depth within the frame where you’ll install your brackets
  • Measure width at the top, center and bottom of your window opening, from edge to edge
  • Record the smallest measurement of the three to the closest â…›”

Height

  • Measure height at the left, center and right, from top edge to bottom edge
  • Record both the shortest and tallest measurements of the three to the closest 1/8”

Measuring for Outside Mount

Note: Outside mount sheer shades will have no deductions taken at the factory. They will be made according to your exact measurements.

Width

  • Measure the area you want to cover (how far you want the sheer shade to overlap the window opening); we recommend 3” on both sides
  • Record your measurement

Height

  • Determine where you want the top of your sheer shade to be and mark the spot
  • Measure the height from the spot you marked to the top of the window sill. If there is no sill, measure below the window opening to your desired length
  • Record your measurement
