SouthSeas Woven Wood Shades are meticulously crafted at every stage of their production, from selecting and processing raw materials to creating the finished shades. The shades are hand-woven by skilled artisans using natural yarns and reeds, ensuring that each shade is truly unique.
These natural shades offer various customization options that make them both functional and beautiful. We recommend cordless and motorized controls for ease of use. The remote control motors can be paired with our automated hub for control through smartphones and select smart home technologies such as Amazon Alexa, Control4, Google Home, IFTTT, RTI, Samsung Smart Things, and Siri Short Cuts. The shades are powered by a rechargeable motor that lasts 3-6 months, requiring recharging after 300 up/down cycles.
Adding a liner to the shades provides more privacy and light control. If privacy is desired, we suggest ordering shades with a liner as fabrics with an open weave ordered without a liner do not provide much privacy at night. Light-filtering liners allow soft light into the room, while black-out liners have a room-darkening effect and prevent light from passing through the front of the shade.
Shades can be ordered in Standard or Waterfall style. The Standard style has fabric coming off the back of the headrail, with a 6-inch valance on the front. This option is ideal for rooms that require room darkening. The Waterfall style has fabric coming off the front of the shade headrail, making it an excellent option when extra space is required between the shade and the window (for instance, clearing trim or window handles).
The addition of Edge Binding not only adds a decorative touch but also protects the natural edges of your shade from damage or fraying.
